Come visit one of the oldest churches in North Carolina.
Damascus Congregational Christian Church was established in 1797 by James O’Kelly, a “circuit riding” preacher. Our church is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in Orange County.
We are an active, community-oriented, multi-generational congregation with members ranging in age from the birth to mid-nineties. We strongly believe in the Priesthood of all Believers, and welcome people from other denominations.
We are a Christ-Centered, Bible-Based, and Ministry-Focused church seeking to know God more, and to make Him known.
So what does “Congregational” mean? Simply put, it means we are followers of Jesus Christ and the church is led by the congregation.
